Light on. Autumn on. Experience on.
From 1 to 18 October 2026, the Family Mountain is far from closing when the sun goes down. That’s when we switch on the lights. Look forward to fascinating moments of light, surprising installations and a varied programme of events.
The artistic design of Light & Landscape is by Julian & Noëmi Bräm | Julian Valentin Design Studio.
Through their art, they transform Sattel-Hochstuckli into a truly unique landscape of light.

Loop trail
The trail through the Light & Landscape takes around 40 minutes (bridge loop trail).
Follow the lanterns along the route. At each installation, you will find an information board with the story behind the artwork.
The light installations are located outdoors. We recommend weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear and bringing a torch or headlamp, as the route is not illuminated.
Tip: Headlamps can be rented at the mountain station for CHF 5.– (+ deposit).

Important
The loop trail is not illuminated. Please wear sturdy footwear and move carefully and attentively. Stay on the marked path and follow the signs.
Installation 4
The route includes an uphill section and should not be started in the dark. Start your walk in daylight and plan to descend no later than dusk.
This installation is suitable for experienced hikers with sturdy footwear and a torch.
Light & Landscape without a package
Would you simply like to experience the light installations? No problem.
Buy your return cable car ticket and discover Light & Landscape at your own pace. The walk through the illuminated landscape takes around 40 minutes.

An Evening of Legends in All Directions from Mostelberg
Saturday, 3 October 2026 | 6.30 pm
On this special evening, renowned storyteller Guido Schuler takes you into the fascinating world of legends and myths. Together, you will walk from the mountain station towards the Hochstuckli ski lift, passing various light installations along the way. Fascinating moments of light and surprising scenes create a truly special atmosphere.
Listen to captivating stories and immerse yourself in a mysterious world where light, landscape and storytelling come together.

Guided hike to Hochstuckli

Sunday, 18 October 2026 | 6 pm
Experience an unforgettable autumn evening on a guided hike to Hochstuckli. Together with experienced guide Röbi Kessler, the approximately 2.5-hour tour takes you through the pre-Alpine landscape and back, passing various light installations along the way.

On this special guided tour, artists Julian and Noëmi Bräm take visitors on a journey through Light & Landscape. Together, you will explore the individual installations and gain fascinating insights directly from the artists themselves – from the initial idea to the choice of materials, forms and locations.

Bernhard Betschart
Natural yodler
A voice you may already know
Bernhard Betschart from Muotathal is well known far beyond the region. As a tenor and yodler with Heimweh, he is one of the distinctive voices of Swiss folk music. With Heimweh, he has won the Prix Walo as well as the Swiss Music Award three times.
On Mostelberg, he will perform his natural yodelling. A very special musical guest for a very special evening.
