Forest fire hazard!

Fire ban in forests and forest edges in the canton of Schwyz

The current drought has led to an increased fire risk in forests and meadows in large parts of Switzerland. In consultation with the cantons of Central Switzerland, the canton of Schwyz is issuing a fire ban with immediate effect. Until further notice, it is strictly forbidden to light fires in and near forests, to burn fireworks, to let sky lanterns fly and to throw away smoking materials.
